Jesus the Cornerstone
"Jesus, you are my Lord. I lay my life down. I will follow you for the rest of my days." On this vow, Jesus begins changing you to think and feel the way he does. And he starts giving you tasks that will earn you a great reward on his return. Jesus loves you so very much. And I love you. And I want you to have a bigger reward than mine. So I have written this book.
Jesus is God's Cornerstone. He lives on the inside of every person who has sworn themselves to him, as Isaiah 45:23 says, "Every knee shall bow to me and every tongue shall swear." (Woe unto those who swear falsely when making a covenant with God! Hosea 10:4.) The Bible says that when Jesus returns to rapture and judge his church (Psalm 50), God will compare us to Jesus. He will measure the horizontal, he will measure the vertical. Every word, every deed. Does it line up with Jesus? If our heart-parts look like Buddha, or Luther, or Mom, or Pastor, or Some Other Creature, they will painfully burn to ash. Were we Judas? God will say, "Goat." Did we live after the sins of the flesh? God will say, "Goat." Did Jesus live his life through us? God will say, "Sheep." Jesus will divide the sheep from the goats. Believers who betrayed their vow to Jesus will lose their salvation and go into the fires of Gehenna.
Gehenna does not exist yet. Right now, it's just a valley with Gey Ben Hinom Street running through it. When Jesus returns, it will be formed into a fiery river of burning tar and sulfur that runs for miles from Jerusalem to the plain of Edom. Gehenna will be stuffed with goat-people who cannot move. Fire will burn them, worms will eat them, birds will rip flesh from their bones. Their resurrected bodies will simply regenerate. Sorrows will torment their soul night and day, forever.
We who are sheep will be rewarded for our works. (Yes, we are saved by grace, but we are rewarded based on our works.) Some believers will have great reward. Position. Authority. Mansions in Heaven, vast lands on Earth. Honor. Glory. Some will be paupers.
Where will you stand? Your family? Is your life about you? Or Jesus? "I didn't think it mattered. I didn't think it was important. I just wanted to live my life and have fun." The last-days church has given itself to the desolation of spiritual fables.
When the Cornerstone lies level in your life, all other things fit properly. Build your life on the Rock of Jesus himself. Let him teach you. The winds of doctrine blow, but what Jesus teaches you will remain eternally. If you walk and talk and think and feel as Jesus does, on Judgment Day, you will be blessed.
