      Product Description

      God songs from odd songs
In this unique book, Hazel cracks the riddles of some of the weird and wonderful nursery rhymes and community songs that form an integral part of our English heritage. Then, with wit and humour, and retaining the same timeless rhyming and rhythm, she re-forms them to tell the stories and message of the Bible - and integral part of our Christian heritage.
This generation seems to be losing its links with the past, and have little hope for the future. Rhythm and rhyming are tremendously important in the learning process, and, so, as well as being fun and clever, this book offers a unique way in which to re-introduce children and adults to their British past, via the nursery rhymes, and their spiritual past via the God songs. It also provides hope for the future in the message of Jesus that can be seen right throught the Bible.

I Know a Young Woman Who Swallowed a Lie

In this unusual book Dr Hazel Butler uses the shape and words of 76 rhymes and songs from our childhood, as the starting point for her re-telling of many Bible stories in a fascinating and intriguing way that hopefully will make you smile but also make you stop and think more deeply about the original stories.
Firstly she sets out the familiar rhyme then tells the story behind it where known, then with the relevant Bible verses quoted below, she weaves her own delightful rhyme to suit her chosen verses.
Researching the origin of the rhymes would have been a worthwhile task, to change the rhymes into works containing the message of the Bible is a labour of love that we are privileged to share.
