Out of the Darkness and Into the Light provides an intimate look into the struggles of a young Christian mother in dealing with schizoaffective disorder. This telling and personal autobiography is a testament to the power of faith and reaches out to all individuals who live with mental illness, assuring them they are not alone and that God will not forsake them. Schizoaffective disorder is a mental illness characterized by episodes of hallucinations and mood swings. The author, Lora Bell, has dedicated a year of her life to sharing her special story about how her acceptance of God has blessed her and changed her life forever. The reader gets a glimpse of what life is like for Lora, living with this illness, and the many obstacles she and her family face. Lora details her life through three pregnancies and severe postpartum depression after the birth of her second child. With God's help, Lora has painstakingly worked through major difficulties, independently studied schizoaffective disorder and survived experiences in and out of the hospital. You will learn about schizoaffective disorder, its early signs and symptoms and treatment options, all of which will assist in persevering mental illness or in supporting a loved one to overcome this mystifying illness.

It is obvious from reading this book that mental illness is not exclusive to a selective group. It occurs in all segments of the population. This is a painfully honest and open account of what it's like to live with mental illness, to experience the bad times, and seek the good. This is the story of an ordinary young woman who strives to accept her diagnosis and live a fulfilling life in spite of it. Through God, she has received peace and solace. An inspirational story of hope found in knowing God's love.
