After celebrating her 37th birthday, against her will, Allison Travis has decided that God's good plans for her likely do not include a husband. The best way for her to move forward is to focus more on loving God and loving others, oh yeah, and of course signing up for the neighborhood Christmas light competition for a little healthy distraction.

Ransom, a jr. high band teacher, led by his desire to use his musical gifts to glorify God, moves clear across the country, from California to Texas to lead worship for the youth group. He's immediately charmed by their friendly hospitality, incredible food, and an overtly competitive volunteer bent on immersing him in a truly unconventional southern Christmas.

Christmas in Texas may not be magical. If it snows here, it's a catastrophe that almost always ends in a fight at the H-E-B. But, what Texas lacks in nature, they make up for in spirit.

Christmas spirit, that is.
