    Product Description

Can Bret and Jami save Nana's place? If you love baseball and a good adventure, you'll be turning the pages to find out!

When Bret Collier decides to skip baseball practice in favor of visiting the Sanibel Island Confectionery for Nana's famous cookies, he meets Nana's granddaughter Jami Shea dropping off a delivery. Ducking out the back way to avoid his coach's wife, Bret follows Jami home to Nana's place on one of the last pristine private properties on Sanibel.

When Bret learns of Jami's love for baseball, he invites her to a Boston Red Sox spring training game in nearby Fort Myers. Bret's dad, Ted Collier, is a scout for the Red Sox, so Bret is able to surprise Jami with introductions to all the big-league players. When Bret's favorite player and friend Joe Cruz learns Jami plays baseball and wants to see her pitch, Bret is worried about Jami's confidence. But Jami isn't worried. She quickly wows Bret, his teammates, and the coaches with her natural talent, and even beats the odds by hitting a home run over the fence.

But Bret and Jami's growing friendship is threatened when they discover Bret's dad is the person behind the pressure on Nana to sell her property. Mr. Collier is determined to build a ritzy resort, using any means possible to get Nana to sell.

Together, Bret and Jami cook up an elaborate scheme to save Nana's place with the help of Humphrey, the cookie-dough-loving alligator that lives on Nana's property, and Carson Wills, an old friend of Nana's with a mysterious baseball past. But will the plan work? Can they save Nana's place?
