This is very much a practical book. Sister Rea suggests various responses we might make when God speaks to us through scripture, prayer and our relationships with others. She uses Paul and John as our spiritual guides and quotes extensively from the gospel and epistles. It is also about how God comes close to us in hundreds of different ways throughout our lives, not only through scripture but through our contact with the Spirit and the seven sacraments. The Gospel of John and the letters of Paul are quoted and examined in detail. Appeal is made to ponder these in our hearts and to open ourselves so that God can transform us ‘from glory to glory’. We feel at the end that John and Paul have become close companions in our spiritual pilgrimage. The book is a wonderful resource of practical advice and theological reflection.
