In ‘Britain’s Spiritual Inheritance’ Diana Chapman reminds us of Britain’s rich revival heritage. Stories are told of our rich history as a beacon of Christianity including the 19th and early 20th century revivals.
But this isn’t just a story about the past, it’s one that urges readers to be expectant of more revival and to be prepared.
Britain's Spiritual Inheritance by Diana Chapman was published by River Publishing in August 2012 and is our 9163rd best seller. The ISBN for Britain's Spiritual Inheritance is 9781908393234.
This is an exciting book with a real WOW factor! In her survey of Britain's revival history Diana Chapman conveys, in very readable form, the remarkable ways in which God has intervened in our national history. Britain's historic inheritance is its relationship with the God who acts in history and society. Here are the stories of men and women in many generations who heard the voice of God, acted on what they heard, and transformed society with the Gospel. The author demonstrates that the age of revival is not dead; that God has done great things in our history and that it can happen again. God is always willing, always able. There is only one response to this important book, "Lord, do it again!" This book should be read and reread. Read it and be both challenged and inspired.

"Diana Chapman brings us ‘Britain’s Spiritual Inheritance’ a book that completes two main purposes. First, it retells the history of Christian revivals in Britain, informing us of their nature, their leaders and their impact. Second, it encourages readers to be anticipating more revivals ...and to be excited and prepared."
“One of the saddest verses in Scripture is found in Judges 2:10 ‘another generation grew up who knew neither the Lord nor what he had done for Israel.’ The stories of God’s miraculous intervention were no longer being told and as a consequence God’s people began to lose their way. Diana Chapman reminds us of what God has done in our land. And when we are reminded, hope rises that God can do it again in our time. Read and be inspired.” - Billy Kennedy, Leader, Pioneer Network; Team Leader, New Community, Southampton
“For the last few years I have followed the trail of past revivals both in the UK and USA. This has led me to trace the footsteps of the Wesleys, George Whitfield, Jonathan Edwards and others. I have visited Epworth in rural Lincolnshire, Northampton Massachusetts, Princeton University and old Moravian burial sites. I therefore read Diana’s book, which is immersed in the richness of past revivals, with great interest. I have found it of great value to re-dig some of those ancient wells and along with many others long to see God moving powerfully in His world. Highly recommended!” - Stuart Bell, New Life Lincoln; Leader, Ground Level Network
“Diana has caught hold of the treasure of our national Christian heritage. We have people and places pulsating with history that tell of the glory of God which has been deposited on these Islands. Revivalists: get excited about this book!” - Stewart Keiller, Leader of Bath City Church
“If you have a heart for the UK and loved reading ‘God’s Generals’ then this book is a must for you! A wonderful overview of revival history in Britain that encourages us to keep running our own race.” - Hugh and Ginny Cryer, Culture Changers
