Down-to-earth, engaging, biblical, conversational... and most importantly, girly!
I would happily to give this to an 11-14 year old girl in my church’s youth group, as long as they fit the following criteria:
• They are a strong reader
• They are a keen Christian (or actively seeking God)
• They have a Youth Bible
• They need some female role models
This girls' devotional is very engaging, straightforward and down-to-earth. But if the girl holding this book struggles with reading or God, I don’t think it’s going to be read. The devotions aren’t long, and they are conversational and engaging – but if the reader doesn’t have the will power, it’ll be just collecting dust. It could be like asking someone to read the Yellow Pages! Devotion comes from the heart, not the head.
However, if you put this in the hands of a girl who enjoys reading, is keen to learn more about God, the Bible and the women of the Bible – this is going to completely blow them away. It includes some brilliant questions, cultural facts (that taught me a thing or two), a quick prayer, a Bible verse and ‘Check This Out’ section. And the coverage is impressive, spanning both the Old & New Testament.
