“Courage is contagious. When a brave man takes a stand, the spines of others are often stiffened.” - Billy Graham
Courage. Or the ability to do something that frightens one.
Billy Graham was courageous. In his six-decade long ministry he preached to live audiences of 215 million people in more than 185 countries and territories through his ‘crusades’. In fact, Graham preached the gospel to more people in person than anyone in the history of Christianity.
But there was so much more to his life than crusades and evangelism. He was also a spiritual advisor to 11 U.S. Presidents: overseeing political change from Harry S. Truman all the way to Barack Obama.
He was a powerful voice in a time of racial tensions and segregation and helped shape the worldview of people who came from different backgrounds, leading them to find a relationship between the Bible and contemporary secular viewpoints.
As a beloved evangelist and a respected man of God, Billy Graham's stated purpose in life never wavered: to help people find a personal relationship with God through a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. But his courage didn’t just impact the lives of millions of strangers. As he pursued his ministry he was also pulled by a similarly significant calling to be a loving husband and father.
In a unique insight, Billy’s eldest son, Franklin, shares an intimate account of growing up with Billy Graham as his father and role-model. Through My Father’s Eyes is a vulnerable and touching look at the foundational life-lessons his father taught him and an inspiring account that stemmed courageous courageous as he followed in his father’s footsteps into world-changing ministry.
Many have written about Billy Graham, the evangelist. But, this is the first book about Billy Graham, the father, written from the perspective of a son who knew him best.
Through My Father's Eyes is due for release on 14th June and is available to order now.
