If there's one thing I know about kids it's that they love superheroes, so when Giants of Faith a new children's album showed up on my desk I had to give it a listen. Described as 'Songs for Everyday Superheroes' this album is certainly that.
If you're looking for a kid's album that isn't repetitive and is over-flowing with catchy songs that explain Bible truths then this is for you. From calypso sounds to up-beat pop, reggae to chilled out tunes the album is an eclectic mix that'll have you singing along from the first play.
Some of the songs have children performing the backing vocals which adds a nice touch and encourages your children to get involved. Designed for use in Sunday schools and All-Age worship, the beauty of this album is the songs are based on key Bible heroes, including Gideon, David, and of course everyone's favourite hero, Jesus. This means they work really well to introduce children to Bible stories in a fun and memorable way.
Though the songs themselves don't have specific actions, I was certainly coming up with a few as I listened to the songs. 'Jesus SuperHero', 'Little Zac' and 'Sink or Swim' each lending themselves well to wild arm movements and classic cheesy actions.
So if you're a Sunday school teacher looking for a bit of inspiration, a church leader trying to find a way to teach the children about Jesus feeding the 5,000 or you've got a long car journey ahead and you can't cope with listening to the same CD you've had for the last few years then give Giants of Faith a go – fun, catchy and varied this children's album will teach your kids valuable truths and encourage them to grow into an everyday superhero for God.
