Carry The Fire by The Worship Mob Review

Together Magazine

Christendom has long enjoyed the era of the worship leader (Kendrick, Redman, Hughes etc). More recently, we’ve turned our attention to worship collectives (Rend Collective, Chaos Curb, Bright City etc). Now it’s the turn of…worship mobs? As the name suggests, the Worship Mob are huge.

Operating as a giant collective, the Worship Mob consists of 200+ members based in the Colorado Springs area. The mob come together to record themselves worshipping, then release the results to YouTube. Their covers of well-known worship songs have led to millions of views. All this is impressive, but the music itself fails to wow the listener. The story, mission and heart of Worship Mob is superb, but there’s a big difference between enjoying some free YouTube clips, and spending your hard earned cash on a full length album.

The Worship Mob are an exciting display of church unity in their hometown. But this album is not exciting enough to warrant a large worldwide following.
