Stuart Townend

Stuart Townend is known by the Christian community as a writer of Hymns and contemporary worship music, respected in the Christian music industry as one of the most gifted songwriters of his generation and loved by his wife and three children, Joseph, Emma and Eden.  Educated and talented and son to a Church of England vicar in Halifax, Stuart Townend was destined to be a messenger of God, spreading huge amounts love through his incredible music to the Christian community.

From a young age, Stuart Townend displayed his musical capabilities in a number of forms, playing the piano at the age of 7 and teaching himself to play the guitar through his teens. Stuart was rapidly being noticed for having an obvious flair for lyrics and music. As Stuart Townend’s passion for music grew, so did his belief and devotion, and at the early age of 13 he committed himself to the Christian faith.  When Stuart turned 22, he began his transformation to an inspirational leader, and today he is known across the world as one of the wonders of Christian music.

Stuart Townend, influenced by many greats including Lou Fellingham and Dave Fellingham, has become a recognised channel for worship music and the voice of God to pass through. Stuart continues to grow and formidably expresses the power of the Christian faith across the world, performing at prestigious events including festivals and conferences. Stuart Townend has taken the words of God and expressed them through his song writing and music, inspiring people across the globe.
