The Word In The WildernessMelanie Carroll, via The Good Book Stall
A selection of poems chosen and commented upon by Malcolm Guite, one a day throughout the season of Lent and Holy Week (With a few extra to cover Saints Days that occur during the season too) and from a range of Poets spanning from Dante to Rowan Williams.
In each case the full text of the poem is obviously given and then followed with a commentary on the poem and it's reflection to the idea of the season and the theme being followed for that week - so we have Pilgrimage, Deepening Prayer, Companioned Journey, Know Thyself, Prayer that Pierces, and finally palm Sunday and Holy Week.
For anyone that has a love of poetry then this is a wonderful book to journey through lent with.
