The Lives of Three Women Intersect in a Place of Deep Wounds and Staggering Grace
Against the backdrop of both present-day and ancient Israel, Lynn Austin weaves together the stories of three women and the work of mercy in their lives. Separated by time and miles but linked through the eternal need to forgive, the stories merge into an example of inspirational fiction at its finest.
At the outset of Wings of Refuge, Abigail MacLeod's life is falling apart around her, and in order to find the time to put the pieces back together she signs on for an archeological expedition outside of Jerusalem. Part lifelong dream and part pilgrimage, her journey is meant to offer her solace and respite from a crumbling marriage.
Instead, it brings danger as she becomes linked with a murdered man who had sat beside her on the flight from the United States. Shaken to the core, Abigail finds comfort in the friendship of Dr. Hannah Rahov.
Through the shared stories of Hannah's heartbreaking past and the related saga of a woman who lived long ago, Austin weaves a stirring tale of reconciliation and proclaims the safe haven God provides for those weathering the storms of life.

What an amazing book! - Alade, in London
Yearning for a new beginning, Abigail MacLeod plans a summer trip to Israel. As she boards the plane, she leaves behind a troubled marriage and a waning faith. But things don't improve---her plane receives a bomb threat and a passenger dies in her arms! Will Abigail discover the peace she seeks in the Holy Land? 400 pages, softcover from Bethany. I love every one of Lynn Austin's books and this one is no exception. She weaves a thought provoking tale amongst the volitle backdrop of Israel. A story of forgiveness and the healing power of God's grace. This book kept me turning pages long into the night. I would whole heartedly promote this book to anyone who loves a read with a viewpoint from several different generations. What I love most about Lynn Austin's books is her ability to bring in lives that have already lived and are not currant day characters in the story and yet they bring a new dimension to the story, but making not just solely focused on one character, but on many, all with one common goal. You will not regret this purchase and happy reading!
