Walking With Pain: The Lonely Journey

Pain is inseparable from the human condition. For some it becomes a constant companion with whom an unequal battle is fought. The author explores the phenomenon of pain and places the whole into the context of belief in a loving God.

Christian theologians have grappled with the existence of pain, and Christianity has at its centre the Cross. The prayers and Scripture readings concentrate on the rawness of pain and the emotions, rather than the intellectual side of it. Those who have to live with pain struggle more with disbelief, grief, doubt, anger, ‘why me?’ feelings, not the intellectual.
