Waiting and Watching
Waiting and Watching by Joyce Huggett was published by Kevin Mayhew in July 2002 and is our 8273rd best seller. The ISBN for Waiting and Watching is 9781840039504.
Waiting and Watching offers small groups meeting during the season of Advent, Christmas and Epiphany the opportunity to focus on the mysteries that beg to be pondered and prayed with at this time but that so easily become overlaid with the busyness that distracts us and steals from us time to contemplate.
The eight-week course, which is reflective, contemplative and meditative, begins by placing the spotlight on the Advent God - the one who watches and waits and yearns for us to return to him. It continues by observing how a variety of people who watched and waited for God responded to and were changed by his presence and love.
Each session includes:
• Group preparation to allow members to open themselves to receive whatever gift God has prepared for them
• Scripture focus to explore the theme
• Personal exploration and personal sharing of the insights of group members
• Group discussion
• Worship time to gather up the thoughts and experiences of the time together by listening to music, as well as the opportunity to pray together

Customer Reviews
Good for mixed group - Marion. Curate from Cumbria.
This study appeals to church and non-church members of group. All invited found they could identify with the stories, emotions and thinking within the studies. Although Biblically-based it is not off-putting to those with no previous knowledge, nor belittling of the more studious.
