Understanding Theology in 15 Minutes a Day
Full Product Description
Theology can be intimidating, even overwhelming. Where do you start? How is it important to the Christian life? What are the key topics that you need to understand? How do you make time to study something so complex without going to Bible college or seminary?
In Understanding Theology in 15 Minutes a Day, professor and former pastor Daryl Aaron answers forty critical questions about the Christian faith. Arranged by topic, you can choose the areas that interest you or systematically read through the book. Each section is short and easy to understand. You'll come away with a deeper faith as you learn about the nature of God, heaven, the Bible, church, and even yourself.

Understanding Theology in 15 Minutes a DayDavid Ford, via The Good Book Stall
Despite its title this book is about doctrine not theology and doctrine of a particularly narrow evangelical perspective. It will be of interest and use to those seeking a conservative approach to the core fundamental questions of the Christian faith but of limited application to those who wish to locate their beliefs within a much broader stream of religious thought or who seek a rigorous and balanced academic approach to the subject.
After a brief introduction in which Daryl Aaron is refreshingly open about his own theological stance, forty chapters are presented in the form of questions, such as 'Did God Really Make Everything?' or 'Is the Holy Spirit a Person or a Thing?' No fewer than seven of these chapters are devoted to salvation and three to Jesus' return. None address ethical or pastoral issues related to faith. At the end of each chapter the author presents 'An Interesting Fact' that is regularly less fact and more hyperbole.
Clearly this book is not to my personal taste, and yet it remains important as a very clear and succinct insight into the logic of conservative Christian theologians. It is however, representative of only one part of the Christian church and therefore a very biased perspective on our understanding of God. And that's before we even begin to think in multifaith terms.

"This delightful summary of Christian theology is no dull systematics sample platter. Aaron offers classic exposition that informs and tantalizes readers no matter how sophisticated their theological palates." --Douglas S. Huffman, Professor and Associate Dean of Biblical and Theological Studies, Talbot School of Theology, Biola University
