    Product Description

Malcolm Duncan, Senior Pastor of Gold Hill Baptist, paves the way for Spring Harvest with the 2014 theme-book – Unbelievable: Confident Faith in a Skeptical World.

“Biblical, readable, radical and practical - I loved it!” - Lyndon Bowring, Executive Chairman of Christian Advocacy group C.A.R.E.

As British society grows increasing postmodern, ‘truth claims’ become more and more shunned by secular thought. This makes the Church’s responsibility, to preach the Gospel, more and more challenging.

Malcolm seeks to encourage us – we may face an unbelievable task… but God has confidence in us!

By asking the question: how can we speak ‘into’ culture, rather than mirror it?, Malcolm maps out his case for a confident and up-to-date faith around the core statements of the Apostles’ Creed. With the confidence of what the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit has done and is doing we can be strengthened and renewed with the confidence of what’s next.

    About the Author

Malcolm Duncan is the Founder and Director of Church and Community. He is on the Board of Spring Harvest and is the Senior Pastor of Gold Hill Baptist Church. He regularly helps the British government and other groups to understand the role of church in society.

He is deeply committed to serving the poor and excluded. Malcolm is a passionate communicator and over the past ten years has regularly written, broadcast, taught and lectured on the themes of mission and Christian engagement with society.

Christians face a tough task. In a world without consensus, all truth claims are regarded dubiously. The Gospel does not change, but what aspects should be highlighted in our rapidly changing culture? How do we speak 'into' the culture, instead of just mirroring that culture?

Malcolm Duncan constructs his case around the core statements of the Apostles' Creed. If we believe in as God as Creator, what does that mean about our treatment of His creation? If we accept Christ as Saviour and Lord, in what sense are we rescued, redeemed, remade? If we accept the Holy Spirit as Guide, where are we going and what are we here for?

We face an unbelievable task: playing our part in the world's regeneration. But God has confidence in us. If we can be confident of what He has done for us, then we can also be confident of what He wants to do through us.
