The Secret History of Christianity Paperback

The author is a retired aerospace engineer with an avid interest in the history of Christianity and all things on the fringes thereof, and espouses some interesting theories about the Merovingian/Jesusan bloodline, the Knights Templar, and many other matters. The book is well-written (quite readable English), but I might place more credence in his contentious assertions if a) he had some background as a trained historian, and b) he cited his sources via footnotes or endnotes (I've found nary a hint of either). For example, from where did he get the theory about the Kights Templar burying their treasure on Oak Island, Nova Scotia, almost two centuries before the voyages of Columbus and Cabot? Sure, there's a bibliography, but from which book did this come? Cite your source - I need to see it for myself in order to believe it! This book is akin to The Da Vinci Code in nature, but without the suspenseful plot, and reads like a secondary-school history textbook, but without any evidence of historical discipline.
