The Gospel of Luke DVD

Full Product Description

  • For anyone wanting an authentic look at the life of Jesus
  • This film is a powerful resource for sharing Good News in a new way
  • The film is made to linger in imaginations for years to come

Word-for-word, The Gospel of Luke faithfully re-creates the stories of Luke's gospel with narration from veteran actors Richard E. Grant (Withnail & I, Downton Abbey) and Sir Derek Jacobi (Gladiator, The King's Speech).

Shot on location in Morocco, the second film in the Lumo Project series uses on location filming in Morocco and a multi-million pound budget to create the most authentic bible portrayal so far. All the actors speak in the original aramaic language, as well as wearing costumes accurate to the period. The movie uses the 'latest theological, historical and archaeological research' to authentically render the fourth gospel faithfully and cinematically.

The Lumo Project's goal is to film all four of the gospels in the most realistic and authentic way possible. The gospels for a visual age is the Lumo Project's mission and goal. With cutting-edge computer generated Jerusalem and Temple, the latest in theological research and historical findings, and a beautiful cinematic styling, this series aims to redefine how we see the Gospels in the visual age.

This striking film is great for Church talks, small group discussions, or even a movie night in with popcorn and comfy chairs.

Both accurate and cinematic, The Gospel of Luke is the second of four films to recreate the unabridged life of Jesus, word-for-word.

Winner of UK Christian Film Festival Awards 2015: Best Series and Best of British.

Got a question? No problem! Just click here to ask us about The Gospel of Luke DVD.

Q:

Do you have any idea when you will be getting more stock in from Lump ?  I leant my copy out and it seems to have gone astray. Thanks

A:Hi Mr Reed, As of writing, there is currently not yet a date of when this DVD will be back in stock. So sorry for the unfortunate news. Thank you for using the Q&A forum. Aaron
Q:

When will the digital downloads be available for Luke, Mark and Matthew? I bough John on the British iTunes Store and am waiting for these titles to make it to the iTunes Store so I can purchase them. I loved John and found it stunning. I would really like the rest of the gospels. The page says late 2016 but here we are in 2017 and there is nothing available.

A:Hi Greyhaven, I am afraid we only sell the DVD editions of the films. The makers of the series are the Lumo Project, and so any information regarding digital releases will be found with them I'm afraid. So sorry I am unable to help you regarding this. Thank you for using the Q&A Forum. Aaron
Q:

Are you planning on releasing a DVD version for the United States? And . . . 'if' you do, will you please include English Subtitles?

A:Hi Dean, I'm afraid there hasn't been any news on a US DVD release for the moment. My best advice for the moment would be to keep an eye on the film producer's website (http://www.lumoproject.com/) for any news of releases, either digital or multi region. Thank you for using the Q&A Forum. Aaron
Q:

Can I play the Luke DVD on a USA dvd player?

A:Hi Dixie. The Gospel of Luke is a Region 2 DVD, and will only work on players that are either European (inc UK) and any players that are multi-region. So it's worth checking your model before purchasing, just to be safe. Thank you for using the Q&A Forum. Aaron
Q:

The gospel of Luke Dvd

A:Hi Vivien. The DVD is narrated in either NIV of KJV with a different narrator for each. Thank you for using the Q&A Forum. Aaron
