Full Product Description
Everything, says John Parmiter.
In this honest and inspiring book, he explores how applying the Ten Commandments to our jobs brings us freedom and godly purpose. Focusing as they do on personal integrity and our key relationships (with God and with others), they are disarmingly relevant to the daily pressures we face at work.
John's insights have been tested in the fire of a contemporary business environment, and pass muster in any boardroom, brickyard or baby-care situation. They provide, whatever your work, a compelling and fresh take on living wholeheartedly for Jesus.
Ten at Work by John Parmiter was published by IVP in November 2011 and is our 32232nd best seller. The ISBN for Ten at Work is 9781844745579.

Ten at WorkBob Stoneham, via The Good Book Stall
The book is a challenge to Christians as to how we truly honour God, and show this in our working lives. There are several Christian books available that advise and guide us on how we should behave at work. But Ten at Work is different to these. John Parmiter starts from an understanding that God gave us the 10 Commandments not as a prescriptive set of rules and regulations to live by, although that is how many non-Christians and some Christians see them. The function of the Ten Commandments is to protect us from ourselves. He also looks at how the world perceives the value of the Commandments.
The principles that John Parmiter outlines in the book are applicable in any working situation. However as John only uses examples from an office and a management situation it could appear distant to people working in different circumstances. I found it a really interesting and useful book, one that I would fully recommend for all Christians to read regardless if you are working or not.
