Seeing Jesus

Seeing Jesus by Gill Thorniley was published by Kevin Mayhew in June 2003 and is our 12906th best seller. The ISBN for Seeing Jesus is 9781844170913.

These stories tell the life of Jesus, from his birth to his post-resurrection appearances. They are arranged to give a basic chronological account of his life. Each story is told in the first person, as an account by someone who was there. This is done so that the stories are more immediate and can be told anywhere, keeping visual aids and props to a minimum. Suggestions are given to make the stories more of a performance where this is required.
This book is written as an account of what Christians believe Jesus did while on earth, and as such could be used to explain the Christian faith. It is intended as a complete resource with themes, stories, prayers, discussion starters and extension ideas for the classroom. The stories are in two parts, one introducing a general moral theme, and the other a more specific Christian idea or belief.
In each of the stories, Jesus has an effect on the lives of the people he meets. It is hoped that this will help children gain an insight into why Jesus and his teachings had such a dramatic effect and why some people left everything to follow him, believing him to be the Messiah, while others sought to kill him.
