There is also personal reflection on these matters, lessons drawn from experience, and practical advice. The interviews are introduced by a primer on heresy and false teaching, and concluded with a chapters on why "Being Against Heresies is not enough" and "What really matters in ministry: directives for church leaders in Acts 20."

A timely and necessary call to deal with error - Adrian
In an ideal world the warnings contained in a book like this shouldn't be needed. But we live in a fallen world, and have the warnings contained in the Bible itself that error will creep into the church. Thankfully we have the means to deal with that error - the Scriptures - but do we have the courage to take action when it is needed? This book sheds light on the way in which doctrinal errors have been or should be handled when they arise, whether in the church or in a Bible college and I have found it very helpful and challenging. The temptation to be soft on error for the sake of maintaining an image of harmony, peace and love can be too great to resist at times, but the consequences of doing so are dire, indeed potentially deadly. I personally like the interview style of this book, although in some instances it seems a little repetitive. I think that when read in the right spirit, this book serves as a wake up call to be aware of doctrinal error and to be ready to take a stand in doing something about it. It's God's church not yours or mine, and we are called to contend for the faith once for all delivered to the saints, not to water it down or fudge the issues for the sake of a man-made agenda of unity created by the removal of truth. Read this book and be challenged into action by it, if nothing else to get to know your Bible more so that you are equipped to recognise error in the first place!
