Hard to swallow but very good - Raffles

This is a very challenging book and warrants more than one read. The author starts out with assertions (which balk) and then follows them up with arguments to back them up. I would rather retitle the book Getting Christianity Back On Course - the Repainting title suggests to me playing it fast and loose, and changing whatever we feel suits us. Fortunately this is not what the book is about. Lots of very insightful observations about particular passages of the bible, which are worth listening to the book for even if you don't get anything else out of it. This is something new God is doing I think. As Jesus pointed out, new wine and old wine-skins don't mix, so this won't be everybody's cup of tea. As an aside I personally have little time to read so an audio CD for Christmas was quite a revelation for me. Instead of taking months or even years to get through a book, I got through it in a few days commuting. The book is split across 4 CDs and contains the complete text.
