I absolutely loved this book - Margaret, a student from Rangiora New Life
I enjoyed reading about Yuns life and how he turned people into christians.
It's Amazing - Katie-May, a student from west midlands
This book really challenges us as christians to get out of our safe zone for God. Don't read it if you don't do challenges for God and beware of the contents as its so true that its definately not for the faint hearted.
The Book of Acts in Modern Times - Stewart of Essex, now in Northampton
A truly remarkable testimony showing how the power of God is able to work Signs and Wonders in the life of mortal man. A must read for any Christian!
A modern day Paul story - Tom, eager reader from Norway
This is a really inspirational and challenging biography/memoir, for the lukewarm Christian. I felt like reading Acts, only set in China! A powerful reminder of the cost and rewards of following Christ. One of the things that strikes me about this book, is that Brother Yun's wife is commenting the events. This helps you to get a second opinion on the events. It portraits a honest picture of a brave and dedicated man, and how his choices to follow Jesus affects the people/world around him. We also seem to get a glimpse into a Chinese mindset, and the underground church in China. This biographical book deserves to be read, chewed and digested. You can not, and should not, stay unchanged after reading this book. From a literary point of view, I would have given it a 4, but for its importance, contents and potential to change your life, I would give it 5,5 stars.
A must read - Gigi from London
Reading this book will give you an insight to one underground church/ ministry in China which was led by Brother Yun. You will not want put this down and it will give you inspiration about your own ministry for God, especially when you read about Brother Yun teaching other prison mates to sing christian songs.
Modern day book of Acts - Scot, Soaker, Leeds
Not a big reader, this is the only book, that I have looked forward to getting home and reading. I read it in a week, I know people tht have read it in 2 days. Get it!!
Awe Inspiring - Jonathan, enjoys biographies
God's gracious working in Yun's family life is heart-warming; the good news spreading is thrilling (wish there were more details of this); the back-lash of the enemy is un-nerving, but the thrill of a triumphant sequel is encouraging. The hand of God is very evident, and a blessing to know.
