Highly Informative, Down to earth, Easy to understand Bible - Highly Recommended - Melissa - Wife & Mother from Essex
I highly recommend this bible. I have always struggled to understand and interpret the bible....Until now! The NIV Life Application Study Bible has opened my eyes to the importance of reading the bible to gain insight into Gods message for us all. I feel renewed and strengthened in my faith. The Commentators make complete sense of what is meant by the bible text and also how it applies to our lives today (Both Old and New Testament). Background history is given on each book of the bible along with the message 'hidden within' and Author information. I personally, for example, was surprised to discover that Proverbs was written for three audiences (in three sections in other words) 1-9 Wisdom for Young People, 10-24 Wisdom For All People, and, 25-31 Wisdom for leaders. I also like the extensive Index which enables you to 'search' for people, places and passages in the bible by subject according to your need at a specific time (e.g. Depression, Anger, Tired, Trust, Thankfulness, Surprise etc etc etc). I apologise that I am not very good at expressing myself so all I can really say that makes sense is...... If you, like me, want to really truly understand the bible and as a result feel closer to God then this is the bible to own! (Also just for reference, if desired, this bible fits into an Extra Large bible cover).

I have had this bible for some time now and I find it a fantastic for bible studies where it gives so much background information via the study notes about the passage I am going to read. As a new Christian, this will make an ideal first bible to buy enabling the new Christian to understand the bible quickly so they can grow spiritually.

I am on my 2nd book of this bible, in 10 years, as my first one literally fell apart where I used it so much. I now have one by me bed & one in the study! I have learned so much from the practical application notes of this bible to everyday life situations. It is invaluable & I would not be without it. I also have the Message Remix which is a great companion to this version!

Asks challenging questions and helps to understand how to apply the message of the bible to everyday life. I have enjoyed reading this as a christian of nearly 30 years, yet I think it would easily suit a new believer. I think this would be a good one to give to a teenager or someone about to go to university as it will gently increase your knowledge while enhancing your faith and equipping you as to how to get the most out of your walk with Jesus. It's only draw back is the lack of an online version.

At this price don't even bother looking at other study bibles. This bible is packed with really useful information and study notes which focus on helping the reader grow in Christ-likeness. A real gem.

I've only relatively recently started reading the bible. I thought I would buy this to provide some wider context, and it immediately impressed me. From the overviews, the in depth personality analysis, to the great reference section, it is a really positive experience. Well worth the money and incredibly insightful.

I was curious about the normal Bible but when I tried to read it I didn't understand the oldy worlde language. Fate (God) led me to my husband who had the Life Application Bible. I picked it up and found it hard to put down! It taught history (time diagrams showing events, people, inventions etc), culture (eg how Jews, Romans, Greeks, women treated each other), geography (maps showing vast distances people traveled), and of course life lessons (believing and trusting God, advice how to follow Jesus' lifestyle, etc, and giving thanks for the miracles given to me).

The Life Application Study Bible is excellent in three main ways 1. It explains things about the Bible that you would otherwise be left wondering about or trying to muddle through on your own 2. It uses lots of tools to help you understand the Bible, like quick overviews of books, maps, person profiles etc. 3. It helps you apply the Bible to everyday situations so it doesn't all seem like something that happened years ago with no relevance now! I would recommend this Bible to anybody, old or young, Christian or not!
