A Ministers Bible for All - Richard, pastor who loves books

I have been reading the HCSB for a a few months after discovering it while doing some studies on Galatians 2 regarding the faith of Christ, and found that the HCSB was one of the few versions that had an alternate reading in the footnotes - the faithfulness of Christ. I was hooked. Until recently I have been using the ESV as my main reading/study/preaching Bible, but since getting the HCSB have grown to really appreciate it as a very realible and very readable translation - in some cases it also inserts in brackets verses omitted in some modern versions, e.g Acts 8:37. The HCSB seems to me to stand very well between the ESV and the NIV, and in my mind better than the NLT second edition. In the UK sadly it seems to lack any great profile. In the USA it frequently sits just behind the ESV in the bestseller Bible lists. This Ministers Bible contains the 2009 updated text. The quality is excellent. The paper (thinish though not too thin) and text contrast well, and the layout is good - single column. There are wide margins for note taking, and at the back various ministers helps. The Bible comes boxed and with a lifetime guarantee. The picture you see here is the box, which is a pity as it doesn't do it justice. The version I have is the imitation leather and looks and feels good, is well bound and supple. Though it is called a Minister's Bible, and obviously aimed at ministers, I would recommend it to anyone - it doesn't actually say on the spine it's a Ministers Bible only on the box it comes in and inside the front cover.
