Reformed Thought on Freedom: The Concept of Free Choice in Early Modern Reformed TheologyIan Gibbs, via The Good Book Stall
The freedom discussed is a theological concept not a political one. Free will, free choice, these are the related subjects discussed by the contributors to, and the editors of this volume. The six writers whose works are subjected to scrutiny may well be unknown to many readers, ranging as they do from Girolamo Zanchi – born 1516, to Bernardinus de Moor – died 1780. The introduction which sets the historical scene and provides the philosophical framework, is taxing to say the least; but the ideas continue to challenge the churches today.
