Puzzles Quizzes And Other Stuff

This is an excellently presented book of code breaking puzzles, crosswords, questions and answers, word searches, true or false grids (together with the requisite answers). While aimed at youth groups and Sunday schools, having a Bible centred theme, this could equally be a selection of family activities. A CD is also provided containing all of the puzzles for ease of copying – perhaps an un-necessary addition as the books pages are large enough to be easily photocopiable. If I had one or two observations, it might be that having a section with 20 code-breaking puzzles followed by a section with 20 crosswords and so on.. seems to take away from the variety that puzzle books aim for. There’s no denying that readers will have their own favourite kinds of puzzle, but spacing out different kinds would make it more widely appealing. Additionally, the puzzles seem both well presented enough and challenging enough to keep young minds busy. I liked the book and can see this being a very useful resource. One of my young relatives was suitably entertained by a wordsearch puzzle on Jonah being presented in the shape of a ship. It’s touches like that which make it both fun and attractive.
