A wholesome way to follow my faith (CofE) - Carolyn, Ecumaniac! St Osyth Essex
Thank GOD for these. Rather than having to remember to take my gluten free bread (very grainy in texture, hard to swallow and harder to 'intinct.') I keep a box at home and one at church. I also find that being square they are distinctive for the clergy, even if we have a visiting preacher/Bishop.
Great for coeliacs, not so great for wheat intolerants - Sandie, priest in rural Suffolk
I don't want to sound churlish because I think it's wonderful that gluten-free wafers are available for coeliacs. My problem as a wheat-intolerant priest is that they are not really any better for me than the normal ones. Wheat intolerance is not usually, and certainly not in my case, as severe a problem as coeliac disease, but it is still a problem. I mention this in case any other wheat intolerants out there are wondering whether to buy these. My advice, though it's a bit inconvenient, would be to use a piece of wheat-free bread instead.
