About This Product
Meet Oliver, the Weak-Tailed Possum! Oliver knows what it's like to feel different. He knows what it's like to be made fun of and embarrassed. But Oliver also knows how it feels to be a hero. Open the door to your child's heart with the story of Oliver. Oliver, the Weak-Tailed Possum never fails to draw gasps and squeals from young readers or listeners and never loses its appeal. After more than 45 years of telling and retelling, Oliver's story remains fresh and uplifting. Every child can identify with Oliver and feel his humiliation at his failure, his hurt at being teased, and his triumph as he proves an unlikely hero. With a foreword and parent pointers by Jennifer Kennedy Dean Judge Don Kennedy has had a varied career as a county seat lawyer, a legislator, trial court judge and judge of the Missouri Court of Appeals, and senior judge for the state of Missouri. He first created the story of Oliver, the Weak-Tailed Possum for his own children and has told it to many others through two generations. Judge Kennedy is the father of author Jennifer Kennedy Dean. Dave Renner is a Houston, TX native who has drawn pictures all of his life. He has been an illustrator of educational materials and currently teaches sculpture and drawing in high school. He is married to Linda. They have two grown sons, Patrick and Colin and a cat named Pasha.
