NIV Audio Bible on MP3 CD
Full Product Description
David Suchet’s new audio reading of the Bible gives you the entire NIV Bible from Genesis to the Revelation in the much loved, award winning actor’s deep, melodic and restfully unrushed voice.
This 78 hour, 752,702 word recording presented on just 6 MP3 CDs is the distillation of more than 200 hours studio times and David Suchet’s own spiritual journey that began with his reading of a Bible in a hotel room in 1968.
Most famous now for his role as Agatha Christie’s Belgian super detective, Hercule Poirot, the Sandford St Martin's Trust award winner’s actor portrayal is loved in more than 100 countries by an estimated 600-700 million viewers.
NIV publishers in the UK, Hodder Stoughton, say it is the first time a single British actor of this stature has taken on presenting the Bible’s entire text as an audio recording. Speaking for the Biblica consortium who backed the NIV audio Bible project, Hodder Faith director Ian Metcalfee said: "I am delighted the whole thing came together. It is amazing, just having David Suchet is transformatory... It is a labour of love, and so much of a benefit to everyone".
The gifted actor has made a gift of his recording to Bible readers everywhere by donating his 200 hour recording fee to charity. The whole project is David’s idea following a letter from a blind woman whose life had been transformed by his earlier recording of St John’s gospel. And for people who love him for other things, for Poirot, this recording is a wonderful gift opportunity for Bible readers to introduce others to the scriptures too.
This 78 hour recording comes on six MP3 CDs. They can be used on any device that displays the MP3 symbol. You can transfer the audio files for your personal use onto your computer, smartphone, MP3 player and other compatible devices. Please check your audio equipment before ordering this product.

Hi there, how long is the New Testament on this recording? Thank you.
Hello, is there a chapter announcement at the start of each chapter? I ask, as I am considering buying this for a friend who is visually impaired, and without this, I think he would struggle to navigate through the chapters. Many thanks.
Can this Bible be played without it stopping at the end of each chapter or do you have to always manually start the next chapter?
A suggestion in response to a question about playing the mp3 recording.
I am disappointed to only find this as an MP3 CD. Is it produced as as a normal CD as well?
Hi, can I choose to select and listen to a particular book from the Bible easily?
Can I load this bilbe on to an ipod?
If not is there one that I can?
If I don't have an MP3 player is there any way I can listen to this voice only Bible reading on my home stereo or in the car?
How are the tracks broken up. Is there one track per book or 1 track per chapter?
I have a CD player on my stereo & a DVD ROM on my computer but i'm not sure if this will work on either. What is an MP3 CD product? Do i need a certain piece of equipment for this to work? Being dyslexic this product would be perfect for me as reading the bible is a slow & difficult affair. Thanks for any advice. Stuart.
Is there an Audio CD Version available that is not in the MP3 format. I have heard that there is one but I cannot find a supplier.
I dont have an mp 3 player and wonder if there is a facility to buy and download from your website otherwise this is very limited.....

"David Suchet has been best-known for years for his TV portrayal of Agatha Christie's detective Hercule Poirot. This recording of him reading every word of the New International Version of the Bible is an entirely different sort of tour de france. It is also wonderful. Suchet's voice, freed from the stiff disguise of Poirot's accent, is melodic but strong. He reads in a measured way, always full of feeling." - The Tablet 2014
