Parachute Band have combined the exploration of modern worship with the ancient rhythms of orthodox practice.

This double album, ‘Matins: Vespers’, is the youthful worshipers 4th album. The band holds a maturity way beyond their age, admitting to youthful arrogance and upholding a Jeremiah attitude: looking to the ancient paths, looking back at what has happen to learn the way forward.

Mimicking the cycle of the day, ‘Matins’ where spoken in the morning to awake the soul and ‘Vespers’ where spoken to still the soul as the sun set. This early church practise has inspired these talented lads to write two discs, copying this canonical concept with some modern twists.

The first disc, Matins, is the morning songs: the melodies that accompany the rising of the sun and the waking of the earth. The songs are rhythmic and passionate, with lyrics that represent modern liturgy that will stir your soul into action.

The second disc, Vespers, is the evening songs: the sounds to facilitate evening prayers, for spacious, quiet reflection in the closing of the day. Painting a canvas for devotion, these songs will take you to a place of inner stillness.
