Making the Most of WeddingsIan Gibson, via The Good Book Stall
I expect many of us have had to plan a wedding for a son or daughter or relative and we all know what sort of angst that can cause don’t we? Well this little book is not for the family that is planning the wedding but for the church where it will be held. I suppose most couples come to the minister to ask his or her advice about things, but this book allows us all in the church to become experts, for it provides us with sound and sensible answers and advice on what we need to know about marriages in churches. I think that when I was involved in a big town church sometimes with four or five weddings in a day, then I tended to gloss over the real pastoral opportunities we had with the families and the couples. This book reminds us that we should spend time looking sensibly at the chances we are given, especially with non-church regulars. Buy it now and reap the benefit this season!
