Light for the World

Christ is the ‘Light of the World’ (John 8:12), and this truth emerges in a special way during the years of his public life, which is the focus of the new addition to the Rosary – the five ‘Mysteries of Light’. The Love of the Father, the Truth of the Son, and the Power of the Holy Spirit, working in unity, are the very essence of the Mysteries of Light.
This booklet offers inspirational prayers and meditations on the new mysteries and an exploration of the concept of Christ as light. It incorporates an introduction to praying the whole rosary, Scripture references for all the mysteries, and a simple appendix on the mechanics of praying the Rosary. This approach to a prayer which has remained highly popular and of great significance since its inception in the twelfth century, and at its heart centred on Christ, is instructive yet prayerful, and will essentially help us to a richer understanding and contemplation of Jesus and the depths of his love.
