Jesus Outside The Box
Full Product Description
Each story offers an exciting and radical new portrait of the one we call The Christ. The author's intention was to present a picture of Jesus, without the 2,000 of Christian doctrine and dogma that have put him some great ecclesiastical box (and suffocated him the process). The Jesus of these tales has broken free from that box of Churchianity and will help readers do the same.
This Jesus is human yet magical, gentle yet dangerous, distrustful of religion, yet unconditionally loving. He is exciting beyond our dreams. You may just discover that you'd thrown the divine baby out with the holy water.
Jesus Outside The Box by Mark Townsend was published by John Hunt Publishing in August 2010 and is our 58761st best seller. The ISBN for Jesus Outside The Box is 9781846943263.

Jesus Outside the BoxMary Bartholomew, via The Good Book Stall
First published 2008 as The Magician's Tale Story telling for children and adults has always been a prime source of teaching and these stories are excellent examples of imagining what it was like to be there, to be a character in the happenings told to us in the Bible. No matter how many times these familiar stories are told and re-told a new storyteller is able to throw a new light, a fresh understanding on the story that has passed us by before. These encounters with Jesus certainly give pause for thought. Acknowledging that I am one of those who have a problem with the concept of a Magician Priest, I still find Mark Townsend’s books well worth reading and pondering upon.
