Is there a God?Tim Leffler, via The Good Book Stall
This is a title that many of our readers may not normally come across as it is more at home in the ethereal world of philosophy rather than most Christian bookshops. Richard Swinburne is considered by many to be one of the foremost philosophers of our time and sits as emeritus Nolloth Professor of the Philosophy of Religion at Oxford University. This book is a revised edition of his 1996 book which is a condensed version of some of his 1979/2004 opus magnum The Existence of God and is aimed at making the philosophical angle on theology more accessible to more readers unfamiliar with philosophy.
Does it work? Is There A God? is a challenging read and for many may be turgid and/or hard to follow but for the determined this is a good study to promote the logical arguments that can underpin the less forensic, but more common, reasons for faith.
