Interesting
This is a very interesting story. It teaches about forgiveness, friendship and guardianship. It shows the life of other cultures, where people help each other. It is a great book for teenagers. It was so exciting that I couldn't put it down until I finished it. It's a kind of book I could read again and again.
Easy to read
I found the book easy to read with a good storyline running throughout. Being quite contemporary it gives a good indication of the hardships and many problems associated with the area. I particularly liked the references to the historical facts about the conflict in Bosnia, brought into the story without overwhelming it. I believe I learned a little about the country portrayed, and the difficulties encountered both by the local people themselves and the NATO forces employed there.
Great
I found the book really enjoyable with several twists and turns. It was for a slightly younger age group although I still enjoyed it. I wish it was longer.
Brilliant
I thought that the book is entertaining and educational. You easily get drawn into the characters world with their thoughts and feelings and problems; the characters are fully developed and realistic, the plot is unusual but not unbelievable. It has elements of mystery, suspense, humour and romance tied together with the thread of God's providance.
Great for Schools
This book would be ideal for use in schools as it introduces children to unfamiliar life in Bosnia. The author cleverly compares human gangs with wolf packs who prey on the weak. The key characters are initially traumtised by their contact with paramilitaries and later in the story are under threat from wolves. The Christian content in the story is not overpowering thus making it suitable for a non-Christian audience but there is enough to cause the reader to be influenced by the positive effects of Christianity demonstrated in the lives of the characters.
