I Wish I Was
Full Product Description
'One day, when I was forty-three years of age, I found a skeleton in my cupboard. The amazing thing was, it looked just like me . She had a different identity, a different family, people knew about her but I'd had no idea that she even existed . . . I took a deep breath, stepped into the cupboard and we merged into one.' Anona Coates
Born just after World War II had ended, Anona was physically, emotionally and sexually abused by the man she thought was her father. She was so unhappy that, when her friend suggested she was adopted she replied, 'I wish I was'. Many years later Anona finds out that she is indeed adopted and begins a search for her true parents, discovering the shocking truth hidden from her for so many years which will test her faith to the limits.

I Wish I WasMary Bartholomew, via The Good Book Stall
This is an inspiring story that I read in an evening. I was so engrossed I read on to the end. I would have liked to re-write the subtitle and include the word Faith, for that is what shines out from the centre of this book. Anona’s childhood was difficult to say the least, yet from out of it grew a loving Wife and Mother who has given so much to so many people. As she tells the story of finding her birth family and of learning to forgive those who have hurt and injured her, I warmed to her personality and was inspired by her and her husband’s lifestyle and Christian work, long may it continue.
