Hidden in ChristMelanie Carroll, via The Good Book Stall
Sadly , this is another oversized book, but at least with this one comes a very nice larger print that does make it easy on the eyes whilst reading—even if it is unweildly for the hands for those with smaller hands like myself. However, size of book aside, the writing in the book is very good.
Thirty short, but considered, contemplations of no more than two or tbree pages each that are all based around Colossians 3:1-17.
The chapters are based around the individual verses and follow in scriptural order—sometimes one verse gets more than one contemplation. This makes it a book that would be very good for a month long study during a quiet time, especially as each chapter has very good end sections entitled living into the truth, affirmation, prayer, and reflection.
It could also be used by a group, as there is at the end of the book a group discussion guide.
One of the things I particularly liked about the book—and it's only a small thing but just framed the work for me—is that each chapter has a one word title. Raised; With; All; You; Forgive; Name; etc. And just as this book came about because of focusing on one small passage of scripture, so there is a revelation in thinking on just one word too I found.
A very good book to use to journey through a 30 day period.
