Full Product Description
This book faces the challenge of raising up new leaders and helping existing leaders to mature, using the model for growing leaders at the heart of the Arrow Leadership Programme, a ministry of the Church Pastoral Aid Society (CPAS). It comprehensively surveys leadership skills and styles, discerning our personal calling, avoiding the 'red zone' of stress, developing character, and living as part of the community of God's people.
The book contains an introduction and 12 chapters, in six sections, plus conclusion, epilogue and resources section:
Part 1: Leadership today
Part 2: Growing leaders know they're chosen
Part 3: Growing leaders discern God's call
Part 4: Growing leaders develop Christ-like character

Growing LeadersIan Gibson, via The Good Book Stall
It is a well known fact that the majority of Christian leaders, whether at national or local level are overworked. Just by reading of the international travel involved for those in high positions and the amount of local activities that have to be part of the local ministers calendar underlines the need for a book like this. Most ministers have little if any leadership training, they have a vocation to be a leader but we seldom train them, as secular managers receive training, to do their job. This book identifies that leaders in a Christian community have special gifts, have indeed a calling to lead, but require sufficient help to make sure they perform the role effectively. By looking at biblical perspectives of leadership and applying them thoughtfully to the role of leader, the author provides a resource rich in challenges and a useful manual for those embarking on any study of their leadership skills and potential. Perhaps many a secular leader could also learn from this edition as well?
