Mac McDonald's son is killed in an accident and for 17 years he is filled with bitterness and the pain erodes his love for his family and leaves him angry with everyone including God. The rage Mac feels has stonewalled his police career and makes for a highly combustible situation after he is partnered with the forces new rising star Sam - who also happens to be a part-time pastor.

But leading the small start up church just doesn't put enough food on the table for him and his young family and know with a promotion at work to Sergeant, Sam begins to question if his real calling may be more in line with police work rather than leading a church.

These two men are thrown together - can they somehow help each other or is it just impossible for either to look past their differences.
