Lots of Hype - Anne, librarian from London

Lots of hype surrounds this publication in christian circles. It is an inspirational story, of an intensely passionate woman of God, characterised by active compassion and sincere love for the orphaned and forgotten children of Africa. Without a doubt, the lady in question, Heather Reynolds, is trully annointed. There are tangible, and I believe plausible examples of the miraculous power of the holy spirit, acting through her via prayer throughout the text. Yet in its telling, the story leaves something to be desired. Section to section, chapter to chapter, and page to page, the publication is marked by inconsistencies in style and tone which serve no clear literary purpose. The biography is at times set out in narrative/explorative structures. While testimony from Mrs Reynolds' family, friends and former volunteers add a certain richness to the book, at times, certain passages seem fictionalised and as such, underdeveloped. The stories of countless children and families are paraded but the "characters" lack pathos. They appear to be "generic" cases, their underlying psychology not having been explored. My instict is that a phenomenal woman and a phenomenal generation of orphaned children and impoverished Africans have been sold short in this book.

A Book that I could not put down. - Gweirydd an EHO from Maesteg.

This is the only book I have ever read whilst wiping the tears from my eyes.I recommend that everyone should buy and read this book and go and do what they can to help this precious work to continue.

Thought provoking - Helen, Staff, Eden.co.uk

Once you start reading the book you don't want to put it down! This is a story of how 1 person's Faith in God has changed many lives. Even when they were at the end of all supplies, Heather never gave up and God always provided in his time. The children in their care learn that despite their hardship in the valley, there is someone that cares for them. Makes you re-think as to how you look at people.
