Hillsong United are back with Empires, their brand new worship album. The Australian band has gathered together a collection of 12 songs, which seek to speak the reality of Jesus and his grace into the tension of a broken world.
The band, which is made up of 11 members of Hillsong Church, said their desire was, 'to simply create the most honest project we could.'
The album follows 2013's Zion, which featured the anthemic track 'Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)' that topped the US Christian Billboard chart. Empires is Hillsong United's fourth studio album, and sees the band continuing to inject elements of electronica and pop into worship music.
Hillsong United started life in 1998 as the youth worship arm of Hillsong Church in Australia. They have since gone on to write and record some of the most popular worship songs of a generation, including 'Hosanna', 'Lead Me To The Cross', and 'The Stand'.
For the last 17 years, United have created songs which have been sung in churches around the world.
