Find Out MoreConnecting With Baptism by Mark Earey was published by Church House in August 2007 and is our 22537th best seller. The ISBN for Connecting With Baptism is 9780715141106.
When the revised Common Worship Christian Initiation Services were first published a few of my colleagues held up their hands in near horror and stated “not again, so soon”, for the church of England has gone through many series of changes over the past few decades. Understandably the authors of this book are looking sensibly at the whole area of baptism from the very start of what is baptism, what is initiation etc to the planning of the service and the follow up visit to homes. What a mine of information it has as well. Each page has a careful and full explanation of every step along the way, each page has a reference to the Common Worship book and is so very clear in it’s approach to explaining each detail. The position of the font, the layout in church, the role of parents and godparents is all explained fully and wisely. I do heartily recommend this book as it should be a part of every CofE bookshelf, well done to the authors for a timely edition.
