This book is a treasure chest of pastoral theology that will equip ministers to reach out to those who grieve with the Christ-centered comfort of God rooted in the gospel. The theological foundation espoused here, as well as the numerous practical helps that are included, will help any servant of the Lord to point the hearts and minds of the bereaved to the man of sorrows who is acquainted with grief (Isa. 53:3).

Comfort Those Who Grieve: Ministering God's Grace in Times of LossAlan Hill, via The Good Book Stall
As with the others in the Ministering the Master’s Way series., this is primarily aimed at church leaders, but all Christians will benefit from reading it.
This slim volume focuses on helping ministers reach out to those who are grieving through the loss of a loved one. The book consists of three sections: first - four chapters of messages aimed at helping believers cope with loss; second - four chapters of messages preached at funerals, aimed at helping the unsaved and third - some ways that the author tried to “be there” for those who are grieving.
This book is not a “how to” book but rather a “this is what I did” book. It is a collection of actual messages, letters, scriptures and poems that have been used by the author. This does make the book a little disjointed. However do not let this put you off. I suggest that the best way to use this book is as a resource. If you suddenly need to prepare a message, write a letter or take a funeral then there is an abundance of ideas and thoughts that will help the minister at short notice.
