A revolution is underway. A Wi-Fi, worldwide movement that is changing how we interact with others. It's a seismic shift that is redefining the idea of community. Every day millions of people connect through online social networks, sites that allow us to follow our friends, and shape how they view us.

But while personal profiles are revealing, they hint at even larger truths. They uncover our desire for identity, our craving to be known, and our need to belong.

Jesse Rice believes that Facebook offers a profound look at our deepest needs. Join Jesse as he explores social networking and its impact on culture and the church. Filled with fresh perspectives and provocative questions, The Church of Facebook encourages us to pursue authentic relationships with God and those around us.

5 / 5 stars

Well thought out and balanced approach... - AndyG, Youth & Children's Worker and Designer in Beverley

I bought this book whilst preparing a talk on Facebook for a cafe church service, having realised that Social Networking is huge and something that is changing the landscape of relationship and communication. The book itself flows very well, with sensible progression and never leaves you as a reader feeling stranded - even though some of the theories it is covering are very complex. The book is sprinkled with good humour and poignancy, and whilst written by a Christian could be read by someone with or without a faith. If you're looking to find out more about Facebook I couldn't recommend it enough, it is balanced (unlike some of the sensationalist articles in recent newspapers) and suitable for those who are or aren't Facebook users. Very readable - It took about four hours and a few mugs of tea - the discussion after with my friends still carries on.
