‘C S Lewis A Life’ is a comprehensive look at the man behind the fountain pen – C.S. Lewis.
Life-long fan, Alister McGrath seeks to write a book which shines a light into the shadows. The result is an articulate, deeply researched and unsentimental portrait of the Christian scholar, theologian and author. Inside readers will discover his:
• Unconventional affair with Mrs. Jane Moore
• Misunderstood relationship with his father
• Curiosity about the sensuality of cruelty
• Pre-conversion state and his eventually conversion to Christianity
• Comprehensive study into his scholarly studies and the creation of his Narnia tales
McGrath’s finely tuned nose for historical study has sniffed out several new sources which shed more light on Lewis. Readers will discover the heart of a legend we’ve previously known little about, perhaps at time be shocked, enlightened and enthralled by this fascinating biography.
