Big Room 4: Yes to justice (Isaiah 11:1-9) a talk by Scott Todd
Full Product Description
We live in the struggle, between the now and the not yet - the world as it is and the world as God always intended it to be. We see the pain of that struggle on a global scale, the growth of injustice: human trafficking; the sex trade; the gap between rich and poor. The prophet Isaiah predicts that Jesus will bring in a new era of justice, a time when everything that lives and breathes acknowledges that God's rule is just and right. No more war, crime or tyranny because the 'earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.'
God's justice isn't something that we have to wait for; as Christ's followers we should be devoted to the work of seeing freedom from poverty, slavery and violence now. The Church is God's channel through which he announces his justice over the earth; an end to all forms of brokenness, the beginning of the era of God's shalom.
What does it mean for us to be a justice community, to boldly proclaim the good news of God's love for his universe - of salvation and peace for all in today's world?
We hope you will leave Youthwork the conference feeling inspired about the potential of your work with young people and realigned in your understanding of justice and the Kingdom.
