A Must - Buy this book now! - Louise from Scotland.
When you are depressed, you lack concentration but this book gives a little help for each day. I found it extremely helpful and reassuring. It supports without patronising or being demanding on the brain. It is perfect to have at the side of your bed.
Very Practical Book - Helen, a teacher from Hastings
These bite sized readings were very practical and helpful, providing encouragement and comfort. I will reread this book many times as it was full of little gems, which is about all a person suffering with depression can handle.
For anyone (Christian or not) with depression, I cannot recommend it enough! - Clare
Brilliant! Unfortunately i believe that its now out of print and so hard to get hold of - but its definitely worth it. Fowke is a psychiatrist and so an expert in depression but it is one of the RARE BOOKS TO BE WRITTEN FOR AND AIMED AT THE PERSON WHO IS ILL, whose concentration and ability to retain information will be minimal. A MUST READ for anybody experiencing depression. Each double page holds a very small, caring, gentle and digestable biblical quote with a few very small, uncannily insightful and gentle, digestable explanations for what someone is going through. Each page also sets out very small, simple goals for the day that even the very lowest person can achieve and help them slowly get better. Its so small it fits in any bag, and can be read over and over again, at the pace of recovery of every person. I am in the health care profession and have experienced severe depression first hand in family, friends and myself, and no book has ever come close to this one.
